i agree with, you, i think. i am realizing that overthinking doesn't always make for more wisdom to be learned. not always, but sometimes. for an over-analyzer like myself, this is a good start :)

we often speak of the struggle between mind and heart, between thinking and feeling, between our logic and our intuition. Maybe the struggle is an illusion. Maybe our intuitions and rationale can work in tandem and multiply each other...but then again, maybe not.

just because fruits and veggies do not squeal out when they are harvested, i.e. killed, doesn't mean the aforementioned quote doesn't apply to them as well ;-)

just pickin' at ya lace. this is my standard vegetarian/omnivore devil's advocate pitch. ;-)

Hi Lacey. I was drawn to your post because I actually am a registered dance/movement therapist (I exist!) and I was curious about this "dance therapy" class that you hosted?

Dance is inherently therapeutic by its very nature.... but above and beyond that there is actually a highly trained (Master's level) mental health profession that applies the therapeutic aspects of dance within a therapeutic relationship. I'm just curious about your experience and wondering if it was with trained, registered dance/movement therapists or if it was some other sort of positive dance experience? Sounds like it was a good experience for all, whatever it was.

Feel free to read more about the field of DMT at my blog if you want.

Best, Lora

"i remember with much more detachment, if that makes sense"
Not knowing what happened, but having had some odd and truely disappointing moments in my life when someone else did something they shouldn't have done, but was right either way. Things get easier with time. Although you seem to be doing a lot better at this that I was. It took me years to get over things and I still have memories which dredgy up memories I wish didn't come up. But in the end what I went through has made me a better person and I wouldn't have it any other way or change one thing.

Lace, I totally understand your enjoyment in grocery shopping. I, too, could walk around in a Whole Foods or Sunflower Market (think Whole Foods on a smaller level and only in the West). As Grant and I have been making steps towards being veggie/vegan we've so enjoyed trying alternative foods, trying out new and tasty recipes, and seeing the great results in our health (i.e., losing almost ten lbs. a piece). So thanks for sharing. :-)
